In spite of the fact that this is the case, Twitter seems to be saying that this is in line with what they are planning for their platform. ![]() This change is likely not going to go over well with a lot of site owners since it would create gaps in their otherwise seamless content with all things having been considered and taken into account. This is obviously a far cry from what was the case previously, since embedded tweets that got deleted still showed the text of the tweet with only the formatting getting removed. With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that the most recent update that Twitter has rolled out will now result in embedded tweets looking like a blank rectangles with light grey lines where the text used to be as well as the Twitter logo. With new CEO Parag Agrawal making several changes to the platform after obtaining his position, Twitter has been altering various aspects of its main site in an attempt to streamline it. ![]() The great thing about embedded tweets was that their contents were still visible even after the tweet got deleted, but this is something that might start to change pretty soon. ![]() A lot of websites tend to embed tweets in their timelines because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up allowing users to check these tweets out as part of a wider story without having to navigate away from the main site.
